This victory marked the fourth straight win for the Supernovas, setting a fresh franchise record. And now, with Ally Batenhorst returning, it’s not just about her homecoming—it’s about the magic of reunions. Not only is she coming back to where it all began, but she’s also reuniting with someone incredibly special.
Ally Batenhorst’s homecoming!
Yes, you heard that right! Ally Batenhorst is not only making a grand return to her roots, but she’s also reuniting with one of her former Nebraska Huskers teammates. This time, she’ll be teaming up with Lindsay Krause, a fellow Outside Hitter who was selected just behind her in the 2024 PVF Draft, taken as the 19th pick in round three. The two will join forces again on the Omaha Supernovas roster, bringing back the chemistry and competitive spirit they once shared in the collegiate scene. It’s going to be a thrilling partnership!
Krause is one of three former Nebraska players now stepping into the professional circuit, alongside Merritt Beason and Leyla Blackwell. Even though Ally and Lindsay spent an entire season battling each other on the court, their bond as teammates runs deep, and it’s clear that their friendship remains unshaken. Returning to the Bob Devaney Center for a matchup against Nebraska was an emotional rollercoaster for Batenhorst, but despite the fierce competition, she was met with nothing but love from the fans and her old team.
Huskers even put up signs that read, “Welcome Home Ally.” Huskers head coach John Cook shared a heartfelt sentiment about Batenhorst, saying, “She’s a Husker… There’s an emotional connection there… She’s part of our family.” So, it’s no surprise that Ally and her family were thrilled when the Omaha Supernovas picked her up. USC coach Brad Keller couldn’t have said it better: “The addition of Ally Batenhorst is a game changer for our program.” His words ring true, and now the volleyball world is eager to see what heights Batenhorst will soar to as a professional.
